The Brunello and Federica Cucinelli Foundation and
the Foro delle Arti
The Brunello and Federica Cucinelli Foundation was established in 2010 with a view to developing and sharing the universal ideals that nourish Solomeo’s humanistic aspiration. Its goal is to create and promote initiatives that support humanity, contribute to the enhancement of culture and knowledge, encourage the protection of territories and monuments, and safeguard the traditional, spiritual and daily values of human beings.
These are the values that are being reborn all over the world today; ideals that are becoming the protagonists of the revaluation of both human beings and the environment in which they live.
"To live is to be useful to others." (Seneca)
The Foundation firmly believes that “the future is not wholly ours, nor is it wholly not ours”, and is therefore determined to nurture human beings in their youth and in their old age, in sickness and in health, in a community and in solitude. It aims to restore human dignity in the context of both living and work environments, considering territory as key, and especially any type of suburb, according to Brunello and Federica Cucinelli’s vision of a life where happiness is the ultimate goal.

Every initiative of the Foundation has the direct or indirect objective of promoting this ‘happy life’, meant in the Epicurean sense of the word, that is a life where having too much on the one hand and too little on the other are reshaped based on the actual material and spiritual needs of humankind. Epicurus’ Letter on Happiness is the cornerstone and the ethical inspiration for the underlying reason of the Foundation itself, “He who has a clear and certain understanding of these things (desires) will direct every preference and aversion toward securing health of body and tranquility of mind”.
In pursuit of these objectives, the Foundation, with the participation and active support of the Foro delle Arti, the holding company that controls Brunello Cucinelli Spa, promotes projects and initiatives that aim to contribute to the happiness and elevation of the human spirit, also thanks to actions aimed at enhancing the spirit of places. Cultural activities, initiatives for safeguarding sites of artistic beauty, and projects to care for and support people and the environment in which they live and work, are at the core of any involvement of the Foundation, in Italy and around the world. The initiatives carried out in Solomeo and in its vicinity are an example of this aspiration. A wish to take action in order to protect, share, and enhance artistic and cultural heritage, both natural and human, of any kind and in any place.
"The one who supplies nothing good to the community is not honored." (Aristotele)
