Nicola Piovani composes the original score for the documentary film "Brunello: the Gracious Visionary"
From his childhood in the countryside to the hamlet of Solomeo, the documentary film retraces the defining moments of Brunello Cucinelli’s life, interweaving director Giuseppe Tornatore’s images with original music composed by Nicola Piovani.
Like a story within a story, the score of "Brunello: the Gracious Visionary" accompanies its protagonist’s journey with clear, universal melodies that reveal all the delicate poetry of Piovani’s compositional style.
“I worked on this film with great pleasure. It is a creative work by the poet-director Giuseppe Tornatore, centred on a poet-entrepreneur such as Brunello Cucinelli. Through the music, I sought to give voice to the emotional dimension of this epic and surprising story.” — Nicola Piovani
One of Italy’s foremost composers and conductors, Maestro Piovani has written dozens of film scores through collaborations with acclaimed directors including Federico Fellini, Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, Mario Monicelli, Giuseppe Tornatore and Roberto Benigni. For Benigni’s film Life Is Beautiful, he composed the score that earned him an Academy Award®.
